A lot of trails begin in Amfiklia, leading to stunning spots and historic chapels, such as Saint Jerusalem. For thrill-seekers, Parnassos is renowned for its climbing areas. Within 20 km of our guesthouse, you’ll find some of the country’s most famous climbing sites, including Kouvelos and Gerontovrachos. Visitors can enjoy organized climbing starting from the beautiful Misklitsa. For those looking for more excitement, paragliding and off-road driving are also available.
In the Heart of Amfiklia
Amfiklia offers scenic walks through its charming cobbled streets, grand mansions, picturesque squares and stone fountains. In the central square you can visit the Bread Museum which focuses on the circle of bread (from seed to flour) in relation with local history. The same building houses the Museum of Professions with a rich collection of tools and objects from traditional trades.

High on a cliff at 850m into a cave, the impressive 11th-century chapel of Saint Jerusalem is believed to have been built by medieval knights. To the northwest, the ancient citadel of Amfiklia offers stunning views. Not far away, Kifissos River with its remarkable Komopyli Bridge, a stone arch bridge surrounded by towering plane trees, is a perfect spot for a picnic.
Customs and Traditions of Roumeli
Our village proudly preserves Roumeliot traditions such as festivities at Christmas and Easter, big bonfires, masquerades and the famous 120m-long kontosouvli (meat on a spit) during the Carnival. Don’t miss the “Parnassos Trail” sports event, held annually during the last weekend of April
Walks from Village to Village
Explore nearby villages starting from Amfiklia: Tithorea, Polydroso, Elatia, Trithonio, Drymaia, and Pavliani. Discover the scenic Forest of Tithorea, the Archaeological Museum of Elatia, the ancient castle walls of Drimaia and the Fountain of Kerasia. Only 18 km away, you can visit the historic Hani of Gravia, while 35 km away from Amfiklia is Pavliani, a charming village on the slopes of Mount Oiti, famous for its unspoiled nature.
For those who might seek a day at the sea, Asproneri Beach- a Blue Flag-awarded beach- is just 45 minutes away.
The 18th-century Holy Monastery of Dadi, also known as Panagia Gauriotissa, is located just 5 km away from Amfiklia, surrounded by a dense forest of pines, cedars, oaks and hornbeams. The village of Variani, a 30-minute drive from Dadi, boasts springs, an aqueduct, a folk museum and beautiful natural ponds in Neraidospilia Cave.
