Close to Parnassus Ski Centre

Amfiklia is a meeting point for snow lovers, as it is close to the most popular ski resort in the country. The Parnassus Ski Centre has 23 slopes, 7 ski routes and 7 connecting trails, with a total length of 34 km. The descents start from 2260 m. and reach up to 1640 m. altitude, with lengths ranging from 300 m. to 4 km, covering all degrees of difficulty. In Amfiklia you will find ski schools and independent ski instructors for lessons, as well as shops for equipment rental.

Ideal for any outdoor activity

Hiking and mountain biking are great options to experience the beauties of the Parnassus National Park and the Boeotian Kifissos. From Amfiklia, start many trails to beautiful locations and historic chapels, such as Agia Jerusalem, while organized hikes are also available. For the more adventurous, paragliding, mountaineering, climbing and off-road driving are also offered. Moreover, in summer, if you want to combine mountain and sea, in just 45 minutes you can dive in the Blue Flag awarded Asproneri beach

In the heart of Amfiklia

In Amfiklia you can enjoy relaxing walks in the preserved settlement with its cobbled streets, mansions, squares with tall plane trees and stone fountains. In the central square of Amfiklia you will find the Artos Museum, dedicated to the history of bread, in which you will also discover the rich collection of the Folklore Association of Amfiklia with household utensils, woven items, embroideries, costumes, etc. The same building also houses the Museum of Professions, which exhibits paraphernalia for some of the most typical professionals of earlier times.

On a steep rock of Parnassus, at an altitude of 850 m, stands the impressive chapel of St. Jerusalem, built in an 11th century cave, which is said to have been built in the Middle Ages by knights of the Templar order. At the northwestern point of the city is the ancient citadel of Amfiklia, which will reward you with its excellent views.

In addition, on the river Boeotikos Kifissos you will find the impressive stone arched bridge Komopyli, which is a monument of traditional architecture and is the ideal place for a picnic under the tall plane trees.

During the festive season, our village preserves all the traditional local customs such as the traditional Christmas, the Carnival ( Apokries) with the huge bonfires (Hay), the parade of masqueraders and the famous 120 m long kontosouvli (meat on a spit), as well as the Easter baking in pits.

And in the heart of spring, on the last weekend of April, you will enjoy the sporting event “Parnassus Trail” which, for 15 years, gives pulse and vitality to our land!

Within walking distance

The best village hopping starts from Amfiklia! Tithorea, Polydroso, Elatia, Trithonia, Drymaia and Pavliani. Discover the Aesthetic Forest of Tithorea, the Archaeological Museum of Elatia, the imposing walls of the castle of the ancient city in Drimaia, the Fountain of Kerasia, the playground under the pine and cypress trees . Also, just 18 km away you will find the historic Hani of Gravia, while 35 km from Amfiklia is Pavliani – a magical village built on the slopes of Mount Oiti – with its fairy-tale park in the middle of unspoilt nature!

In a dense forest of pine, cedar, oak and hornbeams lies the 18th century Holy Monastery of Dadiou, also known as Panagia Gauriotissa (it is 5 km from Amfiklia).

In addition, you can also visit the village of Variani, which is only 30 minutes from the Mansion, by car. With the picturesque Bourboula springs under the plane trees and the calming sound of the water, the aqueduct and its folklore museum, but also the enchanting path that leads to Neraidospilia, a natural cave with ponds.
